On Blogging

Welcome to my blog! I was pleasantly surprised to see more people than expected follow my blog to stay updated on my travels, so hello! For those of you just joining, here’s a brief history of this site.

I’ve had this blog since I was 11. Its original url had a typo (journetothecenterofmadison.wordpress.com), which I finally figured out how to change a few days ago when realizing I needed to update a few things. Writing has always been a part of who I am, and I used to post all the time about whatever insight on the world an eleven year old could possibly have. And as cringeworthy as most of my old posts are, I’ve kept most of my original content for the sake of having a written record of growth (although when I first started, I posted video blogs, all of which have been deleted for everyone’s safety). I am not who I am when I was eleven, and I pray that years from now, I will look back at these posts I’m writing now and smile at how much I’ve learned and grown.

As I’ve gotten older, I haven’t kept up on here as much. These days, I usually post about twice a year. But now that I’m traveling for the next few months, I felt that this blog would be the best space for me to keep my friends and family updated on where in the world Madison is.

To be completely candid, this blog is mostly for me. I love sharing about what I’m learning about who I am and who God is, and I love that I have a place where friends and family can get a little insight into how my brain works. I love that there are a few of you out there who have read these from the beginning, and I love that there are more of you following along in this new season of my life. But I feel that I should warn you that I have no idea how often I’ll post or what I’ll post about.

So, again, welcome! I am so happy to have you along for the ride!
