Yep. You read that right. Silly Bandz. You know, those rubber bands formed into all sorts of different shapes? And today (this may sound crazy), I found my guardian angel in a Silly Bandz.
Background info?
It all started this morning. So far, my day had been one of those mornings where you’re having a sucky day for no reason. If I dropped my pencil, ran out of paper, or got the hiccups, it felt like the whole world was against me. >:(
Anyways, after school, I had softball practice, and we were doing this fun drill where we were sliding on cardboard with open water bottles and seeing if anyone could slide without spilling water. On my third or fourth turn, I was going down to slide, and apparently, I was too focused on leaning back and instead of sliding, I landed straight on my back. The wind was knocked out of me. When I tried to get up, no matter how hard I tried, there was no hope of me being able to breath for at least 10 seconds. The next thing I know, I look up and I’m extremely disoriented and confused. It appeared my whole team had suddenly teleported into a straight line facing the opposite direction of me to give me and my coach privacy. As it turns out, I blacked out. Some teammates told me that they saw me sitting up trying to breath, and then all the sudden I collapse on my hands and knees for a solid 5 seconds with my head hanging down. My back hurt (and still hurts) like crazy and I couldn’t control the tears in my eyes. My coach told me that I blacked out because oxygen wasn’t able to get to my brain. Scary stuff.
As I was walking to the bench, I saw a Silly Band on the ground. It was in the shape of an angel. It could have been a total coincidence, but I couldn’t help but be flooded with God’s love and protection. I could have hit my head. I could have injured my neck or spine. My guardian angel was watching out for me. God is forever with me.
From the Chris Tomlin song: The God of angel armies is always by my side.
